After yesterday's game I'm gutted, but I'm still going to Barrow. I haven't been up there for years. I used spend a lot of time around the area when I was in the army (I was in the kings Own Border Regiment). Anyway can anyone recommend some where nice for lunch where I can go with my son and Dad.

There's a nice pub just off the A590 at Witherslack called The Derby Arms, just outside Grange over Sands.

Charlie can recommend the Whitewater Hotel at Backbarrow , its a bit pricey , but very good if its a nice day weatherwise you can eat overlooking the River , tell them Charlie sent you .

I had a very enjoyable day yesterday thank you , not just because of the Result , but the Fax Stewards looked after us very well , as did the People on Reception , and later in the Sponsers Bar , had a chat with Johnny Freeman a true Gent , met a couple of other players and my mate Andy Greg was looked after very well , even gave a short speech to the Diners .Im serious about the Whitewater Hotel , both myself and Mrs Caroli have stayed there , very good food .

Forget all this posturing, Charlie says this, Hudd? whatever says that, get yourself into Wetherspoon only a couple of hundred yards from the ground, nothing spectacular, its a Wetherspoon, but no pretensions, unlike Charlie and Hudd? Mmmmm.

Wetherspoons they serve the Gravy by Trowel , the Potatoes are served by Shotgun , and the meals themselves are served by Barrowvians enough said , a meal there would scar Faxlore for life .
