I have just posted this on facebook and wondered if any of the regulars on here had any thoughts?

'I agree with the comment that the club actually does well to survive on its current income streams. I have seen us in a much worse position than this in the seventies and 10 years on see Fax lift the Challenge Cup at Wembley. That's the beauty of sport-it's so unpredictable. We either need another David Brooke to come along or maybe the club should try embrace some of the skills of its current supporter base to develop it? I quite like the idea Koukash has done at Salford by implementing a 12 person group to help him run the club from its supporter base.One for the Fax Board to consider?They clearly need more support behind the scenes to try 'do a Cas' and this would also get them closer to the clubs heartbeat from the terraces.'

Something certainly has to be done. I fear we are on a slow downward slope rather than one going upwards. We have seen over the past few years us challenging Fev for the right to be called the best team in this division to dropping way behind them and now Leigh have overtaken us and Doncaster are rapidly catching us. Add to that with the team that Dewsbury are putting together for next season could easily see us fall behind them.

All that said the club has to find a way to increase income streams if we are not only going to compete with the top two teams but also stay ahead of the rest.

Spot on GFB. That's my biggest fear for the club in it's current format and behind the scenes set up. At best we will stand still if we continue with the same structure and to be honest if you stand still in business you go backwards (as you intimate.) The people who are working tirelessly behind the scenes are people who have been there years in some circumstances and I just can't see where any new ideas are going to come from to generate new revenue streams and increase our competitveness on the field at this time. Disappearing out of that middle 8 next year would be a disaster. BOD need to be putting plans in place now before it's too late!

Not on the club's Facebook page?

How do we know the board aren't planning for next year? How do we know there won't be changes? All sorts of rumours flying around this time of year anyway.

Seems the club can't win. We've moaned about them being quiet and also congratulated them on going about their business quietly!

My commentary was on the back of a thread started by somebody else on my FB page FW.
I am sure there are lots of rumours, as you say, but I am guessing that will be more around recruitment which we don't tend to announce until that players existing teams seasons finished or worse still ours!(which personally I think is the correct way to do player recruitment business)
My question is more around the off field structure and whether it's strong enough and innovative enough to take us to the next level?
If it is great, if it isn't what can we do to help?

I certainly agree that more supporter involvement at board level would be a good idea. I have to say something needs to change if Fax are going to be challenging at even the level we currently find ourselves at.

I can just see it now Halifaxjohn at the Head of the table , flanked by Bentleyman , Hudd-Shay , Dutchy and Dutchy Jnr , Swifty , Faxfan , and Spanishbob it would look like the Last Supper with Littlerich playing the Doubting Thomas role .

At the moment we have Pete Mc I suppose as a fan.

Until the trust sort out their issues. this is our current option.
