Fuifui Moimoi could be home his way home,only for a short time tho THE 22-year-old nephew of Leigh Centurions forward Fuifui Moimoi has been found dead in the United States.
The Tongan international is reportedly in shock at learning of the incident and has been told by the club he is free to take as much time off as he needs to.
Moimoi’s son and wife are currently on their way to Utah to comfort the family.
Leigh’s head of rugby Derek Beaumont says the everyone at the club is trying to support Moimoi in any way they can.
He said: “Fuifui is in a bad place at the moment. We have offered him the chance to fly over but at the moment he is just trying to find out everything he can about what has happened.
“Fuifui and his cousin were incredibly close and he used to call him ‘his little brother’.”
Moimoi only joined Leigh from Parramata Eeels for the 2015 season but has quickly become a popular member of the Centurions squad.
“We as a club will do everything we can to help Fuifui,” said Beaumont. “I have told him he can have as much time off as he wants.
“All we know at this stage is that his nephew has apparently been shot and was found dead in his car.
“We are a family club and are will always do whatever we can to support our players.”
