Halifax Rugby League Football Club has announced that it has teamed up with BeanBagSports, as its new Official Social Media Betting Partner, for the 2015/16 season.
BeanBagSports is a new exciting and innovative social network, for fans who love sport and like to follow the big events live, engage in social media and enjoy in-play betting. Sports celebrities host and chat with you through an interactive chat forum.
Phil Taylor is a well known ambassador for the relatively new concept; regularly running his own chat threads with fans. Taylor uses the platform to host games (as many journalists and well known faces do) on the sports he enjoys, even outside darts, most notably Football. Other popular BeanBagSports stars regularly online include Carl Frampton, Gary Murphy and Neil 'Razor' Ruddock, as well as former Snooker World Champion, Ken Doherty. We hope to have Halifax RLFC players, coaches and Directors taking part in hosting chat threads in the near future.
BeanBagSports are currently working with a large amount of football teams, horse racing events, even darts and snooker players. Halifax RLFC are now the first official Rugby League side in Championship, or even Superleague, to begin our partnership with the user-friendly forum, and hope to help popularise sporting social media in the Rugby League world.
Speaking at the announcement, Mr. Derek Thornton, Head of Sales at BeanBagSports, said: “We are delighted to be partnering up with such an ambitious, progressive rugby league club like Halifax RLFC. The vision on show at the Shay Stadium certainly resonates with the ideals and values present at BeanBagSports. Halifax RLFC exhibits a similar drive for long term success and we can certainly identify with having a loyal, passionate following, as they do. We are excited about what the new season has in store for both us and Halifax RLFC.”
Halifax Commercial Director, Craig Poskitt, added: “We are very pleased BeanBagSports has joined us as a partner, having chosen Halifax RLFC as their vehicle into Rugby League. They are a new dynamic company and have many celebrities backing them as sporting ambassadors. I believe the partnership will bring a host of new and exciting opportunities to the club.”

I was a Guest of BeanBag Sports for the Leigh game on Sunday , along with Lee Crooks and Andy Gregory , and found them a great bunch of blokes , im sure their involvement with Fax will benefit the Club immensely , I have said in the Past how much value and a great atmosphere it is in the Shay Lounge .
Yes, ridiculously so, every where you turn it is there, I worry what effect it is having on the younger generations, it's equivalent to smoking in the 40's and 50's and will come back to bite us on the backside in future with debt.

Yes indeedy but, we have to be careful, we don't go off thread. Fax have signed up to another sponsorship and well done Craig for another source of revenue. Ps. Wish it hadn't been with gambling.
