Neil's Notes v Doncaster/BeanBagSports : Mon May 04, 2015 4:16 pm
After seeing Doncaster scoring 38 points last week against Bradford it looked as if Donny might offer a real threat against us pre match. More or less from the word go though we controlled the game and looked more balanced with the changes made so it was pleasing to score 40 and just one try conceded. Ok it was disappointing not to continue the same in the 2nd half but with Leigh next week we will need all our energy against a full time side. All those who were in the Shay Lounge will have seen a slight change to the supporters Man of the Match voting for the Shay Lounge Player of the Season. In conjunction with BeanBagSports voting slips were distributed by 3 young ladies(Better looking than me or Pete) from the company before the game and half and full time. The same points will be awarded ie 3 points for the player with most votes, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd. The player receiving most votes will now receive a match day award which for yesterday was a bottle of champagne and be presented with this in the Shay Lounge shortly after the end of the game. For the next home game and for the rest of the season we will also be interviewing a member from the 1st team squad who are not playing that day as well as a few words from our Man of the Match after the game. We would like to thank BeanBagSports for coming on board and hope to build on the match day experience in the Lounge. Along with BeanBagSports we are looking at further incentives for supporters involvement in the match day experience in the Shay Lounge.
For yesterday Ben Heaton took the award with 2nd and 2 points going to Ben Johnston and 3rd with 1 point on his return Tommy Saxton. That makes no change to the leading positions with James Saltonstall still leading on 11 followed by Luke Ambler on 7.
Jack Spencer took the Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass
Half time draw winning number for £137 was 9703.
