Chairman Michael Steele this morning issued a rallying cry to supporters ahead of Saturday's Kingstone Press Championship League clash with London Broncos saying "The players need you.''

With a bumper crowd expected for the clash at Cougar Park against the Broncos, Steele made a direct appeal to fans to be the team's "eighteenth man.'' The Chairman has previously expressed his frustration at the attendance levels at home games this season, but while acknowledging the disappointment last season, he insisted now was the time for the town to back its team.

Steele added "It’s an old saying in Rugby League but, on Saturday, we need an eighteenth man, the support in our away games has been phenomenal but Saturday is a massive day for everyone involved. I have said on many occasions that the BOD are a very passionate bunch of people who do everything in the best interest of the club and its fans, we have a special group of players and I think I have already been proved right with some of our performances so far this season which, I think, we have all taken great pride in. Richard is doing a superb job and needs the support this week and every week"

This Saturday's fixture is still a home game! The only way to get the home advantage back is to bring Halifax to Keighley. Season ticket holders all enter the ground free and admission is the same as a home league matchday. To read about the change in venue, go to the news section of our website..

We're putting on free coaches for all Executive Club members, Season Ticket holders and fans who pre-book their tickets. Every person travelling on the free coaches must book by Wednesday 24th June. The coaches will leave Shay Stadium around 4.15, and returns will leave Keighley between 8.30pm and 9.00pm.

Looking at Sunday's fixtures I see that Keighley are away at Wales. Why then are we playing the London game on Saturday night?

Nice of Richard to mention the Fans at Dewsbury yesterday too.
While a post on here is largely preaching to converted, im sure we can all try to cajole a couple of mates to come along.
Things are coming along nicely, and its visible to the Fans that the Players are up for it and listening to the Gaffer, and playing for each other.
If we can go into the final game of the season against Bradford and be in with a shout then that game could be the catalyst or springboard to the next level for us.
Big game, big crowd, big...... result and that's what will help keep folks coming back.
Watch our points difference, RM's defensive coaching is as good as an extra point at this moment in time.
Saturday in Keighley may not float the fair weathers boat this time, I hope people aren't too disappointed if we don't pack the ground.

I hate to be pessimistic but can't see Saturdays crowd breaking the 1000 mark barrier. I for one would be a certainty if it was on Sunday but Saturday night I can't make,I'm sure there will be many more in the same boat. Awful time and day for a game. Unavoidable I guess.

The club seem to think we are going to be in for a bumper crowd (although I guess they are just being optimistic) but if not be prepared to be disappointed. It's not a reflection on the team or coaching just purely the time /day it will be played.

I'll be there, and might even have taken up the offer of going on a coach - apart from the fact they're leaving the Shay at 4:15! It's 30 mins to Keighley, even on a coach (it's 30 mph most of the way) - why so early?

I take it that when we are in the ground we wont get charged a transfer fee for sitting in the stand as our season tickets are for the East stand.

I was in the office yesterday booking my seat. The coaches start leaving at 4.15. It doesn't say they all leave at 4.15.
They will be returning from 8 o'clock, with the last bus leaving 8.45ish.

That should allow time for supporters either before, or after the game, to go into the bar and see the Danny Jones tributes that they have put in there and to pay their respects to his memory.

Potentially a make or break game no? Why don't the board drum up some kind of incentive to maximise this crowd? Not saying I have the answer particularly for such a massive game, heads-together time? Kids free - even tap up the cougars fans and kids to get behind us by free entry? Danny would have endorsed that?
