il's Notes tes v Batley : Mon Jul 13, 2015 8:50 am
Even though we have beaten the teams around us to put us in touching distance of getting in the middle 8's this was one game I was worried about and it turned out to be. We looked in control for the majority of the game but in just a short period we were just 6 points in front. Well done Scott Murrell who steadied the ship with a well taken drop goal which proved vital as Batley came back in the last few minutes. Our next to the last league game before the split takes us to Doncaster next Sunday Ko 2.00pm which could prove to be the game which confirms our position in the top 4 and that all important position in the middle 8 division which then puts us against some super league sides.
Voting for the Shay Lounge Man of the Match with a massive majority saw Ben Johnston take first place and the 3 points. Second with 2 points was James Saltonstall and 3rd with 1 point Dane Manning. James now leads on 13 points with Ben 2nd on 11 followed by Dane on 8 with Scott Murrell and Luke Ambler on 7.
The Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass went to Jake Eccleston with a solid display in only his 2nd game.
First out in Club 1873 was number 73, Catherine Choppen who receives the £25 voucher and the £20 voucher to number 46, Steve Porteus.
The half time draw winning number for £184 was 1271.
Our supporters coach to Doncaster next Sunday leaves at 11.30. There are only a few seats left. Adults £11 with juniors £5.
