Big push for attendance increase : Wed Sep 16, 2015 6:02 am  

Did I read right that part of the extra money we've got for being brilliant will be spent on marketing? I hope so. Having witnessed a mercurial end to the season (so far!!) I've been disappointed with attendances. That match on Sunday deserved double that attendance.

We have to improve in that area and whilst recent headlines might push us back to 2,000 we really need to be knocking out closer to 4,000 to gain any real preparation for SL. Not sure what you do to make this happen but it's got to be a task at the forefront of any plans for next year. How the fook do we wake this town up????

The free junior ticket offer needs to be pushed throughout the winter.

There was a massive teenage presence in the away end on Sunday, more girls than boys too! All with mom and dad.

I think this needs to be the target audience.
Get the good looking players into the senior schools who the kids could relate to. Ben Johnston immediately springs to mind. Girls get a crush on the players, take an interest in the game, get their friends and parents down the Shay.

We've got to get rid of the half hearted Halifax attitude which prevails around this town. At last for these qualifiers we had large banners advertising the games around the district.....that is until the Leigh game, no banners for what was possibly the biggest match. The Salford advertising is still up. Why? Then there is the pathetic couple of wooden boards on Skircoat Road/Shaw Syke. I've been on about thise for years, it should be free advertising to thousands on a daily basis but a tiny sign for motorists to glance at as they drive by? Surely we can do better than that. We've got a great club and now a really good team. Let's promote them. Up The Fax!

Totally agree on this, when you are unlucky enough to have to travel past Odslum you certainly know who plays there, we need to do this at the Shay, even if it means joining up with Town, as to be honest, their crowds could do with a boost. But so could their team.

We now have a good product so we need to sell it, long gone are the days where people just turned up as there was nowt else on.

Yon the above point, I've got a wedding do this Saturday so miss another game, we never had all these other bloody distractions in the Winter.

I agree with you all that we need to promote Fax in the area to get more folk down to games. However the problem with the our league is travelling support. Apart from Leigh and Bradford teams do not bring a decent away support. I think we as supporters have a decent away following but this could be better. how many times have we played Workington or Barrow away over the last couple of seasons and we have had the largest support at the ground of both teams.
