His is a legend of the club but his ego and attitude set this club back several years. I hold no guilt for my opinion of him now.

I didn't understand why, whilst Matt was still our coach, people at a fund raiser at the Masonic Hall in Halifax at which Karl was on the panel asked him if he would like to manage Halifax. Karl replied "you already have a coach" Forward a bit and the public got their wish. It was plain to see that after the honeymoon things went from bad to worse. Crowds dropped, due to dull play. I remember at one get together Karl was asked about the boring Rugby and he replayed "we are 3rd? in the League" He couldn't see what was happening. Hindsight, yes because I backed Karl to the end because he was a Fax Legend, I got strong criticism from "making plans for Nigel" and others, some clown called "the enforcer"" But Karl leaving as a coach opened the door for a young coach, a forward thinking coach. I now see that Karl is a winter/forward coach, I wish him well. But I don't regret backing him and I do feel sorry the way it ended. Good luck Karl.
