Neil's Notes v Whitehaven/Away Travel : Mon Feb 08, 2016 6:58 pm
With 52 points scored with just 6 conceded it was the start we were looking for. There will be sterner tests to come starting with Sheffield this Friday but it is a good base to start from.Along with the sponsors Man of the Match the vote went the same way in the Shay Lounge so Steve starts the season long Shay Lounge Player of the Season with 3 points with Scott Murrell picking up 2nd place with 2 points along with the Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass.3rd place went to another player on view for the first time Gareth Moore. With us leading by 48 points the decision not to take an easy 2 points was the right one at the time, but as it turned out it could have seen the points in a match record of 32 held by John Schuster broken with Steve having to settle with a share.
The supporters coach to Sheffield on Friday leaves at 5.45pm. Fare is £10 with juniors £5. There are just one or two places left. The following weekend Sunday 21st February sees our first trip to Cumbria when we go to Workington. We leave at 10.00am for a 3.00pm Ko. Cost is £15 with juniors £10.
There is still plenty of time to renew or join Club 1873. Cost just £10 with a chance to win vouchers for the Club shop and a 2017 season ticket. We have 110 signed up so far. First draw is Sunday 10th April. See me in the Shay Lounge or on the East Stand concourse.
Thank you for your continued support.
