Neil's Notes v Batley/Away Travel : Mon Feb 29, 2016 9:51 am
Well what a disappointment yesterday. Games against Batley are always close and so it was with just a drop goal and 2 penalties between us. Once again we created chances with several breaks which should have lead to tries. This was what Gareth Moore referred to when interviewed after the game in the Shay Lounge after getting the Man of the Match along with the 3 points. 2nd place was James Saltonstall with 2 points and 3rd with 1 point Dane Manning. Gareth takes an early lead with 4 points but a long way to go in the season long competition. The Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass went to Gary Divorty. Batley number 21 James Brown along with 10 Alex Rowe proved difficult men to put down. Our next fixture sees our long trip to London to their new ground Ealing Trailfinders. on Sunday 6th March 3.00pm. The supporters coach leaves the Shay at 8.00am. £25 adults with juniors £10. To book phone me on 07714488080. The following week sees another top game with the visit of Leigh to the Shay before a break for the Challenge Cup. Well done to Siddal in beating Newcastle which was one of several good results for the amateurs against the pros.
Club 1873 numbers have now reached 120. If you have still to renew or you wish to join see me in the Shay Lounge or in front of the East Stand on match days. First draw Sunday 10th April when we play Swinton.
Half time draw winning number for £194 was 6749 .
