Are so many really necessary for a Rugby League game against a small pleasant bunch of Workington fans?

They enforce more and more silly regulations, week after week, coupled with quite frankly, poor performances on the field, is it any wonder why a family of 4 will spend their £50 in much nicer surroundings.

I'm aware that the Stadium is a Cat B, or something along them lines, but with half a stadium open, can these rules be relaxed a little. We don't need the Club Doormen, unless against Featherstone or maybe Widnes or Salford at a push, and there is no need for so many stewards.

I wonder how many new fans and existing fans have been lost, never to return, due to the Stewards inability to show common sense. For example, mom and son go in South Stand, dad and daughter go in East. Family made a mistake. Family need to be together. Steward reply "No. It's more than by jobsworth " Family go home, never to return to the Shay again.

Fan wants to leave 10 minutes early as game is running 15 minutes late and needs to get home. Steward refuses exit till he has cleared it with his supervisor on his walkie talkie. Absolute JOKE.

It's time M.Murray reviews what is happening at the Shay. Alienating "PAYING' customers that keep him in a job.

Our home game at Keighley v London was such a refreshing experience last season.
3 or 4 stewards wandering round the ground casually, and not a spot of bother.

There are a number of pages regarding this on the Halifax Town site.
I have never seen it as a problem at Fax's games. If there were too many yesterday perhaps it was because the club hoped for a bigger gate.
A few too many stewards in my humble opinion is no cause for concern.

What? Have missed something here, I've never seen doormen at the Murg or 3 Pigeons and other such pubs only in town centre ones.

Maybe his user name tells you the sort of pubs he frequents. lol

Incidentally, the town centre pubs I go in don't have doormen. e.g. Upper George, Gundog etc.

I would have thought the door staff on both bars are to ensure there is no overcrowding. Each of the bars will have a maximum of how many people are allowed in.
Again I don't see the problem, they are always polite and happy for a little banter.
As for swapping from East to South or visa versa I would think this is again a health and safety issue.
It also costs more to be in the East Stand, so why would the club let you pay South Stand prices to sit in the East Stand.

I guess Im too busy acting normal to notice the stewards.

Are people really that put off by the stewarding to never come to a rugby game again?

Exactly. This is just whinging for the sake of whinging.

Can't say I've ever really noticed the stewards at the shay so certainly don't see it as a problem.

Well. I'm sure the rent would be cheaper if CMBC/club forced to employ so many. DS security won't be cheap

With respect as always, I don't think the stewards will be on inflation busting wages and I'm quite sure that by cutting their numbers the Council would not reduce our rent.
They won't even reduce it to a comparative level with Town.
Incidentally are the stewards out of hospital yet after hSaturdays disgusting display by Town fans?
Now they do earn their money.
