My opinion on Matt Sarsfield is he is a very good player,has speed ,backs up well,and can tackle, I personally didn't want him to leave Leigh, but we had so many players coming in someone had to make way and Sarsy and Haggerty were 2.Fax have a good player,no doubt.

Just posted this on the 'other' Matt Sarsfield thread! I definitely agree with 'charlie's' assessment!

A cracking acquisition for you. Quick and mobile for a forward and aggressive too. Very sorry to see him leave Leigh in the close season. He had put a couple of unfortunate injuries behind him by that stage.

Strange, as we have just been discussing, about an hour ago, whether he would go out on loan from Salford!

Don't play him against us - I'm sure he has a lot that he will want to prove to Leigh, for letting him go.

It was mentioned in this week press that a SL loan signing would be coming on board and Matt is a quality player, as Charlie has said there were a good few at Leigh who didn't want him to go but understood the reason.

I was another who was sad to see Sars leave Leigh in the off season.

I think our recruitment in the back row maybe put his 1st team spot in doubt after an injury ridden 2015 and he felt he needed to look elsewhere.

A quality player, proven in the Championship with surprising pace and 100% effort.

Hope he impresses with Fax. Always like to see a Leyther doing well, except for Bracek

Sounds good. It's probably a good time to refresh the squad. Despite some dire performances we've just got into the top four and a couple of new lads might just be the boost we need to kick on and cement our place in the middle eights. Sportsman, shuddersfield. Hawkshead Red 4.2% Mmm!

The Andy Bracek the opposition love to hate is obviously a bit of a different player to the one that Fax fans know. He's defo a rough diamond and will tough it out whenever, but he's really not not the thug that he's portrayed as. He'll never take a step backwards, and there's been a couple of incidents I'm sure he regrets, but overall he's just a real good, tough, honest player that truly gives his all. Tbh, I'm gutted he's out on loan at the moment, 'cos I feel he'd give a bit of backbone in our defence that's missing at the moment.

Totally agree, wasn't the massive signing he was made out to be at the time but he's been really solid and rarely has a bad game. Also I wouldn't have down as a thug, nothing like Barlow to Hock in terms of yellow cards.
