Neil's Notes v London : Mon Jul 25, 2016 9:12 am
Another disappointing result which in the end with how other results went a win would have put us in 5th and given us at least a home game against Bradford and the extra revenue rather than away. On the other hand we only have 1 trip to Cumbria rather than 2.To come back yesterday from 6-22 to 22-22 shows what we can do and even though they went back into the lead it looked like Will Sharpe had scored only for the man with the flag to say no.
Adam Tangata took the Man of the Match and the 3 points in the Shay Lounge Player of the Season with Ed Barber 2nd with 2 points and Ben Johnston 3rd with 1 point. Adam now leads on 16 points with Gareth Moore and Dane Manning on 12. When interviewed after the match Adam spoke that whilst all the players were disappointed in not getting into the top 4 they were all focused on completing the season on a high in the Shield competition and were looking forward to beating Bradford for the 5th time on the trot and at least playing in a final. Whilst we have a healthy lead of 11 points from Sheffield in 3rd our aim is to finish top as the final is played at the highest placed club so we have to compete week by week with Bradford. The fixtures will be out Wednesday. Could Bradford and Halifax be round 7? In Club 1873 the £25 voucher went to number 17, Darren Leach and the £20 voucher to number 18 Joanne Hickey. As we have 4 home games in the Shield competition and only 3 draws left there will be no draw at our first Shield game. The Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass went to Luke Ambler with at least one block busting tackle although Gareth Moore made a try saving tackle after just 10 minutes play. Half time draw winning number for £195 was 2932. As soon as the fixtures are out details of away travel will be announced. Neil 07714488080 neilarber43@gmail.com |
