In a lengthy article these are some extracts concerning the proposed restructuring under "Koukash slams 13 Team Proposal".
The Salford owner described the concept of a 13 team Super League as the "most ridiculous proposal he's heard from a club owner" or that any owner could come up with questioning how the sport would fund such an idea.

MK stated that the proposal from one (unnamed) owner to try and determine the league structure next season was an attempt to undermine the authority of the RFL

One idea that had been floated involved HKR coming straight back into the top flight.

After mentioning the problems for the Magic Weekend.

Returning to the question asked about funding for the extra team being shoehorned into SL the answer he received was about "taking it from the second tier".

He said, taking the money from the second tier could be devastating for the sports future.

Continuing, I know people said take it from the Championship to fund the 13th team but that is like stealing from the poor to give to the rich, it will kill rugby league in this country to give some of the Championships money to SL clubs.
He also questioned where the extra 30 SL standard players would come from to play for the 13th team.

Well at least we know what at least 1 or 2 SL owners think of the Championship.

It's sickening to think that they are either unaware of the potential consequences for the game of their short sighted greed or simply don't care.

Wigan have thought they were bigger than the league since the Lindsay years...hope they end up like the Dulls one day.

His team came perilously near to finding out the potential consequences of playing in the Championship last year. I wonder what his thoughts would have been had Salford been relegated?

Blimey first time ever I find myself agreeing with MK and he is right, good on him for coming out with these views, shame on the owner of that other club for being so selfish, the sport is RL not just SL but you would never know it the way most SL clubs Chairman behave.

Hey up Alan.
The same article covered that by saying.
Salford found themselves embroiled in the drama of the Million pound game last year but despite that, Koukash insists he does like the structure in it's current guise.
"The competition with twelve teams as it is, is perfect".
"The middle eight qualifiers is the most exciting competition there is and the Million pound game, so many people are looking forward to it after last year".

Regardless of any of the above, my point was just to let people know how some in responsible positions including SL chairmen think about the Championship and the rest of rugby league.

At Fax we know what not finishing in the top 4 and the reduced funding would have meant for the club.
The "club" in the context means the lively hoods of coaching staff, players etc.
Halifax RL (or any club) is not just some name on a badge, these are real people and not some statistic on a SL clubs balance sheet that can be used to fix a problem with their books.

The move suggested by this person / persons would not just have that effect on one club, oh no lets hit the lot and put all these clubs in jeopardy in one master stroke.

No wonder the person / persons were left unnamed, they are a total disgrace to the game.

Looking forward to seeing you guys again. Somehow, despite seeing all these 'top' teams at LSV, I've missed watching us play Fax and Fev - who, I might add, have brought more support than some of our SL visitors!

Still, I suppose we may have the pleasure of your company again next season - especially if we play like we have been doing, up to the recent Salford game!

P.S. From our current position, I have to confess that I quite like the proposal of a 13 team SL in 2018!!

Well the funding of a further 1/2 clubs in SL has to come from somewhere..What would you suggest?

Why have another 2 clubs in S/L ? Certain Coaches complain about playing too many games so lets increase the no of Teams in it Laughable. Increase the intensity/quality "Every Minute counts " remember that.
Who wants to see Wigan/Leeds/Sts etc play each other 5 Times a season apart from greedy S/L Chairmen

Think you would probably find SL clubs playing less games with 14 in the league as the 8's would be history.

......and then (as sure as night follows day) the SL chairmen would be moaning that there weren't enough games to provide the required income and even more money would be taken from the lower tiers.
