As long as the RFL never accepts a cut in sky cash does it really matter ??
A landslide …………..
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/45520586 I must admit I think the 8s are seriously flawed as it creates dead rubber leagues re the Super 8s and the Championship Shield and now Fax have made it to the Qualifiers I'm not really enjoying seeing us get tubbed every week. We'll have a far better chance of promotion going forward as I now think the top Championship clubs won't feel the need to go full time with SL players in preparation for the end of season clashes with the SL clubs, and it'll be far more exciting taking part in the old style top 5 play offs. |

We won't stand a chance of promotion without going full time and with less money that unfortunately is even further away than it is at the moment. Obviously the top 5 play off will only be for SL clubs with our league top goes up meaning it will be harder for clubs like ourselves to market games past the half way point once it becomes clear that we have no chance of promotion or no carrot to aim for like there is now. |

The 8s don't create dead rubber leagues. There are always going to be dead rubber games in a league. Fax are getting tubbed partly because they just scraped into the middle eight and partly because there's a huge disparity between full time Div 1 clubs and part time Div 2 clubs. Creating a competitive under competition is the great challenge the game faces. |
