Board desperately needed someone who knows what they are doing. Really can't have the head coach running the club.

A few possibilities, depending on the role of football manager.
He should be able to override the head coach buying props or second rowers.
The players should have a buffer between them and head coach/ BoD if the have a grievance.
And could /should bring experience to the boardroom and maybe calm things down a tad.

Welcome back Mr Croad.

Great points especially regarding grievance procedure. As it stood a player upset with the coach had to go and see............the coach.

Sometimes a return to the past can be a good thing, sometimes not.

I am far from convinced that having someone re join, and be put in charge of players contracts, who was on the Board when we overspent our budgets and had to ask everyone to reduce salaries is a good thing. There are also some strong negative views on how he ran the shop.

At least however we will have someone who loves the Club and is a shareholder ( none of the rest of the Board have invested ) our present BOD is almost invisible apart from in the hospitality areas pre match!

Its always a worry that someone is more infatuated with the stature that been a club director brings rather than actually been of use to the club. Wasn't that one of the worries about your group and obviously when a large sponsorship got pulled that could have left the club in a lot of trouble it's presumed the clubs best interests were not really at heart. All that been said it brings someone back to the club who is willing to put his money where his mouth is and might bring a bit of order back to the club. A good place for him to start might be the shop that has gone from not costing the club any money to now running at a loss.

Im not surprised its running at a loss..
I dont know anyone who has bought any Replica Polos etc the Logo looks as if it has been stuck on as an afterthought Really Poor.
I know it would be expensive but you cant beat an embroidered Badge & good Quality.

Correct. That badge is embarrassing in that it's just stuck on to a generic Samurai shirt/shorts whatever. The worst merchandise I can ever remember Fax having.

Back as Football Manager reporting into the BoD.
He is currently a Shareholder not an active Director.
Welcome addition to the Management team with a wealth of knowledge about all things Halifax RLFC.

Yeah Ian Croad's stuff was pretty much spot on but people were all too keen to get rid especially when it came to the shop but the state of the new stuff is embarrassing.
