I think we can be a bit happier after today. I think we saw enough to suggest that this season won't be as bad as last season and you never know we might surprise one or two.

Defence looked well organised and we limited them to 2 trys from kicks and fitness wise I would have expected us to be behind a full time team but if we are it didn't show. We saw enough on attack to suggest we could be decent with Carlisle, Murrell, and Gilmore already looking sharper than what was served up last year. Obviously its hard to read too much in to it and I didn't really pay any attention to the Hull team named but doubt any that played would be part of the main squad besides Kelly. I know we also had a lot of players missing but add them back in and 2 or 3 good ones from Huddersfield and we should be there or there abouts the top 5.

Lets hope the Kavanagh injury is not as bad as it looked. I know people were saying knee, which hopefully it is, but to me looked more pelvic in which case we probably won't see him the rest of the season depending on the severity of it.

He should benefit from having another organiser in the team and somebody else who can kick.

Top effort today lads.
Bad injury to Kav, dislocated knee and maybe hip damage, with knocks to Elliot Morris, leg, Ed Barber, knee and Dan Fleming, ribs were the biggest downside.

Agree.Thought i saw Carlisle being helped off-while on subject of knocks-hope he's ok he'll be vital early season.

Apparently he has had his hip put back in, so working on that it doesn’t sound good, minimum of 3 months but will doubtless be more so out until the middle of Summer probably.
