Good spot, safe bet to say a lot if not all clubs will have to implement something similar.

There could well be varying circumstances for those involved, purely from a financial viewpoint taking an early pay cut may result in getting less as obviously 80% of post pay cut will be less than 80% pre pay cut for those who qualify but you would have thought they will be glad of any support and personally just waiting to hear from the club of any new initiatives / specifics on how the fans can help.

Another comment from Fax.

Why wouldn't any club or business do this? A very generous scheme from the government and a no brainer really.

Agree 100%

But we need to always remember that even under this scheme a number of Club employees will find their financial situation very difficult, just as a large number of supporters will too.

Keep Safe

Good honest assessment mr grayson. It cannot be either a pleasant or easy task currently particularly because you have inherited many of the issues from previous management who chose to duck the issues you are tackling head on . If the club does survive it will probably because of your efforts along with the supporters . it appears to be generally accepted that the wage bill will have to be cut once the furlough support is reduced. Its also wake up and smell the coffee time for some people clinging to the past. I just hope there is an option b being considered if option A doesn't make it through this storm.

I know it's a tough sport and the players put their bodies on the line, but rugby league has always struggled financially and are now far too reliant on sky money.

ALL the players across the board need drastic pay cuts and admission reduced to a tenner at most to attract new fans and stop existing fans from gradually drifting away otherwise the sport will slowly die.
