And breathe Terry. Can't argue with any of that though. The ref was dire and I thought it were funny when the two most bias commentators Ive heard in a long time even admitted that a forward pass lead to a Bradford try and then that tackle on robinson should have been a penalty. A lot of dumb rugby from us though, firstly getting drawn in to the niggle and then secondly we just look to lack a leader on the field. I know Grix had to go off but we just look to lack direction at times.

I really don't know what you mean by drawn into the niggle. I didn't think there was any niggle. It blew up once with Springers dumb shoulder change with Fleming & Murray running in and getting binned. Brearley seemed to be getting excited with plenty to say and putting pressure on Brough. But apart from that there wasn't really much rubbish going on in the game IMO

The ref was poor. He's one of them where you have no idea whether he is going to blow a penalty or not and there ends up being 40 penalties in game. But claiming biased for us is just laughable. Pinging us for offside about 6 times in 15 minutes, and not once for Fax doesn't scream favouring us.

I thought there was nothing in the Robinson tackle at the end. Went for the charge down, his hands are in a charge down position above his head. Nothing in it for me.

Couldn't believe you didn't go for the drop goal to equalise after you had got the ball back from the kick off though.

Rivalry aside I though it was a good game. Sheffield beating York today and Dewsbury beating Widnes shows its going to be an unpredictable league, particularly below the top 2. You'll be comfortably in the play-offs. All the best until next time :)

Leadership on or off field and we would have taken that game .. well played but it's the bit extra that is required a game to remember and learn the lesson from big style

Agree. That’s where Scott murrell has punished us over the recent match ups. You missed that today.

Overall a much improved performance from the bulls and perhaps Halifax thinking it was an easy day at the office after beating london, especially after going 0-14 up so quickly.

I thought both sides played about 40 mins each so a draw was a fair result. The difference in the end being the lilley DG and fax choosing not to go for one. Fine margins but a great game and so good to see and talk about some championship RL again.

Early doors but I expect both bulls and fax to be comfortable in the table, maybe a sneak towards the play offs but no threat to promotion

Bang on summary that. Harris and Robbo will improve but we are missing the killer instinct through an older head which Muzza would have given us. Grix is a game changer but cannot really deal that killer blow as Muzza def would have.

Which is kind of the point, the only sin binning was for foul play. At one point he seemed to warn your captain then Bulls gave another penalty on the next couple of sets and no yellow card. I believe that was probably influenced by the fact you already had a player in the bin.

No doubt it was a really good game to watch and I never claimed the ref was biased just that he didn't have the best of games. I thought he needed to take charge earlier on like you say, offside 6 times in the space of 15 minutes which wasn't due to eagerness more due to the Bulls looking off the pace and the only sin binning was an off the ball tackle. There should have been a team warning from that point but he seemed a little reluctant with Bradford already having a player in the bin. Again the Springer sin binning was nothing really but again came on the back of an incorrect call by Grant allowing a two on one ball steal. The Robinson tackle at the end was accidental but it ended as an attack on the kickers standing leg which is a clear penalty, no malice in it whatsoever but still a penalty and on the Dewsbury pitch it would have been an interesting decision if we went for 2 just over the half way mark. Its one of those where you find yourselves on the end of some crucial 50/50's and hopefully it evens up during the season.

I think overall Bradford probably just deserved to edge it because they played smarter, little things like the deliberate lying on at the end of the first half compared to us taking a set up the middle with a minute left and a point behind. The smarter players were certainly on the Bradford side.

Not really I expected it to be a close game and it was , there will always be fickle fans , the nature of the league is that most games will be competitive .

I don’t think Halifax live in anyone’s shadow admittedly attendances have declined hence the rebrand .
Halifax have their own stadium suitable for the position where in with a good young squad with a combination of local talent and other exciting players , it’s two games in and I can already see a brand of rugby coming through.

I certainly rather support Halifax than Bradford you don’t even have your own ground and even if you went back to odsal it’s a toilet anyway, Bradford are stuck in the past you ll lose a couple of games and you’ll be crying for Kears head again.

Halifax are at least trying to be progressive and I think we’ll do ok this year , see you on the 1st of august .
