Was the comeback just a case of nothing to lose (no pun intended) and they had their cue on the rack? Or did you genuinely have a chance to take it do you think?

True about Springer but a season in trouble already, no. There are a group of teams, including York who is just as likely to win as lose against each other. If we lose to either Oldham or Dewsbury, you might have a case.

That depends on what your aims are for the season. We are out of both cups at the 1st attempt and are 1/3 in the shortened league season.

Let's be honest, no one gives a toss about Dereks decking cup and challenge cup, well once in a blue moon you might get what happened with us. But I mean what's your realistic aim for the League..... prelim final. I very much doubt we would get to the final.

couldn't agree more our season is in real trouble based purely on our performances this season and previously under simon grix he is incapable of solving our obvious problems on the pitch the sooner the directors of this club act and sack him the better the way we are getting beat is nothing short of a disgrace and cant be allowed to carry on any longer

The thing is we aren't Chelsea. SG has a contract, I think for the next two seasons, and there's no way Fax can pay that off and pay for another coach. We will just have to get behind Simon and hope that he, and his team, click into action and soon. Up The Fax! Hogs Head Brew House, Sowerby Bridge. White Hog 4.0% Mmm! :DRUNK:

We are 3 games into league season with a new team - looking at it positively we have had one excellent performance, a single point loss against a team we could be expected to be on a par with this season and a second half against one of the 2 best teams in the championship when we scored some superb tries. Yes I believe we are actually a better team than Bradford and should have beaten them, and yes some of the defence against Toulouse in the first half was not acceptable. But this is a largely new team which I genuinely believe is capable of playing the sort of rugby fans have been crying out for for years. I feel Simon Grix needs a chance to prove himself with the first team that he has really assembled and think those calling for his head already need a reality check - no club has a right to automatic success - just ask Widnes or Bradford and I know which one of those 3 I'd rather be following this season.

To me the decision not to interview candidates for the coaching vacancy is coming to bite. What that process would have shown is that grixys communication skills were limited. I dont know what support he has in terms of assistants currently. The recent ones at fax that come to mind of a type I think he needs was a very intense not friendly terrier type school teacher cant remember his name . .for me he needs that type of hard hitting quick thinking , bite your ankles , type side kick with a more motivational match day communication skill set.to get them up and on the field in the right mind set to operate a game plan

Personally I would not want to be in a dressing room with an angry Simon Grix. As laid back as he appears in his interviews, the dressing room at half tme in Sundays game would not have been a nice place to be.

We need some consistency to build and improve on from week to week based on a solid internal game plan with some adjustments depending on the opposition.
Any tweaking should be minor, the first few games have been so different in game play it's like what happened the previous weeks and in training never happened.
It's even worse than having to start again because there are more questions than answers which stretches the work load and when your a part time team it inevitably leaves some areas that you can't spend enough time on.
Defence would be high on the agenda for this week.
