To me the decision not to interview candidates for the coaching vacancy is coming to bite. What that process would have shown is that grixys communication skills were limited. I dont know what support he has in terms of assistants currently. The recent ones at fax that come to mind of a type I think he needs was a very intense not friendly terrier type school teacher cant remember his name . .for me he needs that type of hard hitting quick thinking , bite your ankles , type side kick with a more motivational match day communication skill set.to get them up and on the field in the right mind set to operate a game plan

which bright spark put it in grix contract that he would be the next coach when marshall left that decision beggars believe even if he turned out to be a very good coach you at least have to advertise the post to see who comes forward for the job and my be show some ambition and approach some coach's our selves

We are 3 games into league season with a new team - looking at it positively we have had one excellent performance, a single point loss against a team we could be expected to be on a par with this season and a second half against one of the 2 best teams in the championship when we scored some superb tries. Yes I believe we are actually a better team than Bradford and should have beaten them, and yes some of the defence against Toulouse in the first half was not acceptable. But this is a largely new team which I genuinely believe is capable of playing the sort of rugby fans have been crying out for for years. I feel Simon Grix needs a chance to prove himself with the first team that he has really assembled and think those calling for his head already need a reality check - no club has a right to automatic success - just ask Widnes or Bradford and I know which one of those 3 I'd rather be following this season.

it is you that needs a reality check if you think what we have produce under is coaching is good enough he took over from easter monday 2019 look at the performances from then and tell me that is good enough i have never said anything about having a automatic right to success but i do expect the coach to get the best out of the players he as got which are not as bad as our performances would suggest and that is down to him and to suggest that our performance against london who were very poor was excellent is way off the mark it was a good performance against very poor opposition

Reality check - we are a team who struggle to attract home gatesof 1700 with no wealthy benefactor. In view of this we should struggle to compete with Featherstone,Toulouse and even York - if you think sacking a coach who has assembled a team most people were excited about after 3 games - even if they could afford to do so, would dramatically change this state of affairs- then I beg to differ. As a supporter the hope is always that we will overachieve- this is Grix's team - I feel our best chance of doing this is giving him a chance to put right the disastrous first half defending from Sunday whilst building on what looks a promising attack.

Well said. Got to temper our expectations. If we had folded on Sunday, lost by 40+, I'd have said there was something wrong in terms of how players respond to him. My expectation of Grix, based on us and you would think every team to keep on improving, would be to finish 3rd, no lower than 5th,

reality check is that the best you can do as i have said numerous times it is not just based on 3 games how hard is that for you to understand he took over in 2019 look at is win ratio can you even remember a really good performance under is coaching other than the semi versus saints you also conveniently forget to mention the cup game against batley an other crap performance who like most sides in this division have had a big turn over in players and a new coach but they actually look they have been coached to defend and play to there strengths which as resulted in them having a far better start to the season than us is that close enough to reality for you

Yes I can remember a number of good performances under Grix and several disappointing ones - he took over an underperforming team that had been coached by a coach with very different methods for 3 years - it was always going to take time to change a style of play that a lot of supporters had been moaning about for some time. Last season was a non-event - if coaches were judged on that then Ford at York would have been sacked. Halifax is a new team this year, with for the first time in ages a nucleus of promising younger players - Grix has put this team together and I'd like to see him given a fair chance to get the best out of them. It seems unlikely, and understandable not everyone will have the same point of view so I won't bother commenting on this again.

when it cones down to it. the coach was not on the field. the first half defending was all down to the players.

....and whatever he said to the players at half-time certainly had a marked effect so he must have spotted what was going wrong and remedied it! Far too early to shout for his head yet

i agree the players do have to take a long hard look at them selves but lets just say and i may be wrong i hope i am but if these problems are still here in say a months time how long is it then allowed to go on for the coach cant avoid blame forever
