20 man squad out and it is good to see barber and rawsthorne return i would think that nick will replace mcgrath who will miss out due to the head knock against batley last week but will barber get back in mcomb as done a good job while he as been out maybe he will replace larroyer who is missing this week he could go in the second row with kavanagh moving in the middle personally i would play him in the Centre or leave him out barber that is

If fully fit Ed Barber would be in my team every time. He will probably start off the bench though I would have thought.

If he's fit I'd replace Larroyer with Fairbank and slot Barber back in at centre, even though Mccomb has done a good job there. I think his size and handling skills make him a top notch centre at this level against being a decent second row.

Well that was nail biter. Well played lads. Kept going until the end. Another interception try given away but tue second half you dug in. We dominated their pack in the last 15/20. They looked like they had already lost the match with 5 to go. We never gave up and over the last few seasons we would given up. Top performance today and broke the Widnes hearts right at the last. No pints conceded in the second half. Up the Panthers

Good result against a decent team - first half thexweather severely hampered Fax's previously slick attacking play - as weather improved so did attack. The break he made seemed to galvanise Harris who went from being totally anonymous to a match winner. Not the best performance of the year, but great to get the win against a top 6 rival - individually thought Calcott is getting better each week and Salty had a typically totally committed display and took his tries really well. Hopefully next week we'll get back to better weather and a chance to get back to the sort of attacking form seen over last few weeks. Finally wish we'd start giving Amir more game time and stop using Brandon as a make weight 2nd row while he's on.

Totally agree with your last point. Take Brandon off and replace with Amir. Don’t lose another big forward just to keep the captain on. He would understand the decision.

Good result that. I think the weather was a good leveller but in that first half we just were not smart enough, poor kicking game and seemed to be paniking when only 6-0 down. From 12-0 though barring the couple of gift penalties similar to the batley game we just ground them down and always looked the more likely to win the game. I we seem to be building something at the moment and if we can avoid a couple of shock results we should be in 3rd by time we play Bradford with that game going a long way to decide where we finish.

Different side seen from Fax today, that while not being as decisive in attack the resilience got them over the line in the end which I think they just about deserved.
Many of them are carrying knocks and injuries and shouldn’t really be playing so a lot of courage on show today.
Just need to get over Whitehaven next week with what we have left in the tank and then a couple of weeks to heal, rest and regroup before we go again.

Worth mentioning our defence again, Widnes tries came from a kick and an 80m interception. Other than that they didn't really look like scoring and we seem to have a great attitude in defence this year over the last few games. Thats reflected in us having a pretty good points difference.

Or take the captaincy off Brandon. I don't think that it has helped him, he's certainly not as effective as he was before being made captain.
