here we go again.... another week off : Tue Aug 25, 2009 5:29 pm
would rather have played quins this wkend really last time we had a week off we were abysmal at leeds and i think that will affect us again.hope tm spots this and works on it with fitness and mentality doesnt let the players start there holidays to soon. i think the carnegie 9s would have been good for the out of form players to get in the mix and throw the ball out a bit. anyone agree?

Doubt everything, even this

According to TM's post match interview on Tiger TV, the players are only getting 1 or 2 days off, with plenty of training.

I think I agree about the 9s though.

I think the time off will do us the world of good come the play-offs,we have been punching well above our weight this season and the odd lapse against a side like leeds has to be expected

This will all be forgotten if the players come back refreshed from this enforced break and make a real good go of it in the play-offs,how many fans would have taken a top 8 finish at the start of the season?

I agree with you to a certain extent. The effects of a small squad with little scope for rotation has been evident for some time, the forwards in particular looking jaded. However the lay-off prior to the Leeds debacle does not seem to have been beneficial and I wonder if it just gave tired players a taste for the end of season break rather than an appetite for remaining fixtures.
