Great news! It's nice the club keep making these announcements and that we can see some sort of progress.

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like this bit.

In the meantime the club has now concluded the first stage of appointing architects for the detailed design of the new stadium and have received a number of quality applications. We are reviewing the documentation and the next step is to select and meet with a smaller number of firms and we anticipate appointing our chosen architects by the end of the month

Have a look at the above.
My brother in-law is a big Cas fan and we had a £50 bet recently, he reckons out of the 3 team Cas will play in there new stadium 1st, i reckon it will be Rovers. I know that Wakey have approached Rovers with some kind of offer so that tells me all may not be smooth with there plans. There are also rumours that Cas either have or are about to drop there planning application for Glasshoughton. The race is on which of the 3 will play in there new stadiums 1st ?

As a region we are VERY lucky to have 2 teams in SL never mind a third, Although i prefer fev to other so called rival teams in the district they will never have the population or economy as town to support an SL franchise.
Anyone driving through the town can see that to a large extent is is essentially a ghost town.
Anyway as has been stated before the pot for charitable funding is very low at the moment and so a "community stadium" aimed at one area within the WMDC would be outweighed by the very similar venture which is going to be built at J30, but is aimed at the WHOLE district.
Gronk!

It's good news about the unit at Xscape indeed. Millions of visitors a year seeing the plans etc right near the entrance to the whole building :D

As for the quoted bit, where's everyone who doubted me for saying this news would be released shortly :D

How is J30 aimed at the "whole" district?

I certainly doubted your ridiculous claims that building work on the stadium will start in November.

Can we keep this one please? It's turning into a classic... :D :D

First and most importantly, it's mightly good news about the Xscape display. It's fantastic to see yet further progress and I anticipate the move will contribute towards shutting up a few people's faces in the weeks to come.

Also though...

I hope you're right. I seem to recall they said the same about Thornes though.

I wish I was a bookie in Fev.

Thornes is a big built up residential area around the park. It had a sizeable population to create a significant opposition. Newmarket Lane has 4 terrace houses and a cottage at the bottom.
