I'm inclined to disagree with both of you.

I think TM selects whichever players he thinks are right.

Judging by our form so far this season - I can't understand why anyone would suspect otherwise.

(or perhaps he just picks his mates and gets lucky )

I've been surprised by Massey when I've seen him this season (Bulls and Keighley), I think he's come on leaps and bounds and looks the part, I think he's is a great prospect. That's not detracting from Ryan Boyle, maybe TM wants to give him more time to get 100% fit after his injury, could be back in the squad on Monday.

I agree Massey is a great prospect and I would say the same about him as I have for boyle if he played most of this season then all of a sudden next season hes not getting in the side when there seems to be no apparent reason…
But as you say maybe boyle isn’t 100% fit or maybe hes saving him for Mondays game I just think its unfair on the lad if he is 100% fit, hes playing well and still not getting in the side.

IMHO Widders, up until the last couple of games, hasn't done anything more than Boyle would have. So why is Widders in the squad week in week out and Boyle not even in the 19?

a) I wasn't doubting Boyle's abilities for a minute

b) My point is I think TM is doing more than enough for any sensible fan not to question his integrity

Because Matterson rated him very highly due to his previous reputation. Little did the bald man know when he offered him his lucrative 3 year deal, that mr widders had been on a cheese and onion pastie diet.

Now Terry "15 penalties isn't enough" Matterson has to justify his decision to sign the fat man with a pie eating problem, hence the reason he gets a guaranteed start.
