We're not all Southern Softies

Unlucky!!!!
We snatched the game from you either side of half time, but don't forget, this is the first game of the season & a lot has been learnt by both sides.
Come the end of the season, I think we will be in the mix, & hopefully you will be too.
By the way, thanks for letting us have "Dorny" back!!!!

The try just before half-time was down to Sargent being a lazy b-stard and not wanting to drive the ball in. We should know by now that Dorn pounces on any stray passes you throw after all the games he did it in last year. It was just silly play.

Definitely a forgettable game to say the least. Cas didn't seem to know what to do when they got towards the try line which was worrying. I think when Sherwin is back we'll be a lot more dangerous.

I can't believe some of those shocking passes that were being thrown about near Dorn, we should know better than anyone (except maybe Warrington  ) what he can do.

Sargent had a shocker. Hudson was a worthy MOTM, when he came back on in the second we definitely improved IMO.

All that being said, the reaction of a lot of Cas fans today was absolutely pathetic. First game of the season, losing by 4 points and booing the players is ridiculous.

Definitely a game we should have been looking to win, but all is not lost on 1 poor performance. I'm still confident we'll go well. A win or draw and we're guaranteed to finish above Wigan anyway.

As disapointed as i am with the performance of the players today. Cant fault the effort but we did play too much dumb rugby. I am more disapointed with the fact that some fans seem to just want to go to have a go at the players. I know people pay there money and have the right to there opinion but i am ashamed to be associated with some of the fans in attendance today. I am sure most fans like me down hearted because we should have won today but for fans to be booing not just at full time but at half time when we are down 6 4 makes us look nothing short of backwards and simple which im afraid a few of fans are.

Some of our fans are completely clueless, stood with my dad today which i probably wont be doing again after some of the most ridiculous comments i have ever heard from some people.

One guy was complaining how we "got rid" of Dorn and swapped him for Widders

Another comment was that we should sack Matterson because he's had 3 years and done nothing

He also seemed to think we had a divine right to beat Quins today, i tried (and failed) to explain that we have no right to win any game and that wins have to be earnt. He was more interested in the fact that we would "lose a thousand fans" just because we lost one game

I personally cannot remember the last time we won our opening Super League match.

Neither team deserved to win today imo, thought a draw would have been a fair result. We played well in spells and made a few good yards and put in an average attacking display. Defense was quite good but very lazy at times

Imho Quins were average and as has been said, the game was won and lost around half time, i wouldn't say we were worse nor better than them today.....however if we are to be serious contenders for top 8 (something which i think may be a little too much for us this season) then we need to step up, Quins/Salford/Huddersfield etc etc are teams which we should be looking to beat.

Think you're underestimating them mate, I reckon they'll be the surprise package and pushing for the top 4. Great win away at Les Cats, its a very hard place to get a win and they crushed them.

Possibly so, however, based on previous years (obviously i haven't seen them this year, other than our friendly in which they weren't that impressive) to be in the play offs those are the teams, along with Wakey, HKR etc that we need to be beating

Think your right mate. Hudds could be a tough bunch this season. I think a lot of teams have recruited well enough to be better teams than 2008 and closing the gap on the top two although still a way off but we are all getting closer.
First game of the season is always a bit of a lottery so its disappointing to hear that Cas fans are booing their team. :NAUGHTY: Quins are usually slow starters and always have to play 'catch up' so this win is a real bonus and moral booster, but if we'd lost and given 100% it would be OK and roll on next week. One game proves nothing folks

Tbh i think it was between Goldy and Hudson today, though i agree, Goldy should of got it. He had a very good game at FB and seems to have conquered his fear of the high ball, fantastic catch when he had to hit the post
