I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

Because that's the way of the world Therailwayendisuponus, in every walk of life people will try get themselves a better job and if given a window of opportunity by a Superleague club, who can blame the player. We lost a lot of really good players to Superleague clubs as a result of being in the National League - Brough, Lynch, Godwin, Manu, Tony, Hudson, to name a few, I know circumstances were slightly different, but we had to accept it.

The majority of lower league players have a get out clause in their contract that will allow them to come to Superleague, and after all the overwhelming majority of them are part time players and a chance to be a full time pro is a chance of a lifetime, with much greater earning potential, the chance of international honours and no more 9 to 5.
Why don't the club try the novel idea of promoting their part time reserve players while players are injured.

I think most of our reserves are very young kids and not ready for Superleague yet, in many other Superleague clubs the reserves have a fair smattering of contracted squad players (our squad not big enough for that), who can make the step up. A number of our reserves will make the grade but they are kids and not quite ready yet. That said, TM has come out and said we can manage at the moment with the players we've got, but who knows if any negotiations are ongoing for short term fixes to our injury crisis

I know about your reserves i have seen four of there games this season and there is a couple of lads around the 20 age who should be given a chance in stead of bringing some one from the lower leagues.

I think I'd agree with that, you've seen more of the reserves than myself, but the idea of franchising is/was to give youngsters a chance.
It's the only way they gain experience, and as long as they are deemed good enough it is worth giving them a chance. I'm sure at least 2 of those 3 young Bulls players in the squad to play Wire will be chomping at the bit to impress, and will hopefully impress Steve McNamara enough to retain a place when some of the big names return from injury.

Having said that, I think having a relatively small squad we were told to expect the possibility of a mid-season recruit or depending on how things went. However, I would definately only bring in somebody if they were for the long term, not just a quick fix. If a quality player becomes available then I would like us to bring somebody in, but if it is an average player on a quick fix deal- then I'd sooner play one of the academy.

Disco - Expansion of the game is a good thing, undoubtedly, but in the main what people simply want to assert is that you don't kill the roots to spread the tree.

The Curtism - The battles are fought on the field and the friends are made in the bar. There's no hatred among real men.
