As for challenging for honours, can you also remind me the last time we were challenging to win the league please ? We can throw in a few Challenge Cup finals and Regal Trophies, but I must have slept through the years when we went through a period of time when we had a team that were consistently 'challenging for honours'.
I think there's a misconception that the 'RTB' brigade accept mediocrity. We would love to win every week. But only St Helens supporters have this 'right' .I think the difference between the two types of fans we have, is that the 'RTB' s can see the big picture and are far more realistic. We can remember what our expectations were a mere 5 / 6 months ago.
There's nothing wrong with criticism, as long as its constructive. From what I read on here, the 'rose tinted brigade' are far more adept at discussing an issue, rather than becoming defensive and claiming that it's 'supposed to be a forum' and claiming they can't have their say.'"
In the relegation years its been losses to teams like trinity and Salford that hurt us and ultimately sent us down-sorry about the rant but we are a bigger, better club than these clubs-that isn't beong defensive.
I consider the Challenge cup to be an honour in the game, we need to look back to the Raper Years for when we were challenging for honours, the JJ team before it was dismantled under his feet and Van de Velde, then Reilly I guess. We were challenging no doubt about it  |

How are we bigger and better?  As much as you'd hate to admit it, Wakefield haven't been relegated twice and are currently above us in the league. We're probably just about on par with them at this moment, but I don't see how we're bigger.. ? |

Trinity scraped into SL with a pack of lies, they built a squad, failed to pay the players, built a stand, failed to pay, have a poor fan base, so i'd like to suggest Cas are a bigger and better club-and have a damn site more integrity |

Many people said catalans over performed last season so who know where they will be next season, think with walters in charge there not going to achieve as much as when potter was there. By the same token wigan and bradford underperformed last season according to many, just as much chance they will get worse as better. And who knows which other teams might underperform next year, kr, quins, hudds? So we could play worse next year and find ourselves better off. |

Can't see any of those teams going backwards tbh, as for Walters, next season will be a big one, given the success off the field,I'd imagine the Catalans wanting to match the off field successes. As for the Goons and Bradford, they have had a dire season-lets hope it continues  Wire, well they are coming good, but next season under a good coach, I expect them to do great things.
