People named Xanadu, Shangri La and Laputia. Doesn't mean they exist. Or ever will.

I think you will find that the diggers were working on a piece of land that will become available for commercial purposes. At this moment that land is provisionally ear marked for Castleford Tigers proposed new stadium. That situation can change at the drop of an hat! That is an uncomfortable fact that many on here will not accept.

No matter how many diggers you see buzzing around that particular piece of land, it will be nothing to do with the construction of the proposed new stadium. No construction can legally start without FULL planning permission. Can anyone tell us why after all this time of waiting this hasn't been put in?

It looks like a case off a lack of funds that have brought the project to a virtual stand still. The recent developments or lack of developments of the sale of Weldon Rd have probably brought the situation to crisis point imho.

I'm not saying that Cas won't get there new ground all im saying is that things are not what RW and his followers on here make out. You have some serious obstacles ahead if you want to progress, it's time to see reality!

Yes. But we can't be arsed when reading any of the news stories of recent weeks would enable you to find out for yourself.

Wrong, the land is there for a stadium, hotel, swimming baths and a NHS drop in centre - all attached to the ground (with exception of the hotel of course).

Well done, the diggers are still flattening the land because if you never noticed, it was a hill (and still has a fair bit to go), full planning permission will go in once it's flattened I should imagine.

Captain state the obvious  there's a lack of funds for one reason - the economy, which the local council have helped to bridge by giving both clubs land to secure loans against - funding gap...gone.

Richard Wright isn't making it out to be anything, the last statement he made on the clubs website said they're looking for architects and a lead engineer - the last step before full planning permission and foundations/construction, not anywhere has Richard Wright claimed that the stadium will be built over night, but it will be done before the next round of franchises.

But let's not let simple facts and published news articles get in the way of your rambling and conspiracy theories, eh?

WAKEFIELD TRINITY - The PRIDE of Sporting Wakefield

THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS

: Thu Aug 27, 2009 2:46 pm
Personally, I'm sick of all this fighting/arguing about whose stadium will be built first, where we both are with progress etc.

To me it is just the same as all the "rumours" going around about what players are coming/going.

With both situations I will believe what I see with my own eyes as and when it is OFFICIALLY announced, until then we are both in the same boat as far as I am concerned. We would both like a new stadium, we are both somewhere down the road towards getting one but how far we've got and how far is still to go is pure specualtion to all but a few people at either club.

Let's stop fighting over it and concentrate on supporting (hopefully) both our teams in the playoffs!

That is what the land is proposed for yes. If no funding is forthcoming the land will eventually be used by some other business venture. Like it or not that's the reality of business.

You have had 2 years since outline planning permission has gone in. Now you admit that you have had funding problems despite many posters on here denying it over the last two years. In the view of recent events regarding the WR site what makes you think them problems are at an end? Do you really think this council land loan will be enough to build yourself a stadium alone? It seems at the moment that is your only source of collateral you have to build your ground.

What RW has talked about recently he was talking about 2 years ago! He publicly stated in 2006 that completion date would be October 2008.

All is not what it seems to me!

It seems to me Folly that you will say anything bar your prayers. First of all I would like to thank you for involving me in your argument. Do not confuse me with that idiot wakey fan who is determined to wind you up and I dont mean Mr Brown either. I would like you please to show on here where I have ever said anything detrimental about the proposed new ground for Cas if so I will apologise otherwise I would be grateful if you would refrain from spreading untrue rumours about me. I Wont hold my breath for an apology for I fear you are neither big enough or man enough to admit your wrong. As a matter of interest you might take up journalism you should do well I'm sure there is some backwater rag will employ you, when you grow up that is.

Chissitt: I will clarify what I meant for you. I wasn't meaning just in relation to this thread, I meant in general. I will apologise for bringing you into this specific argument about the stadium - yes, I am man enough thanks - but generally, you have been having an ongoing "forum war" with tigerman 1+1 for the past few weeks which is becoming tiresome.

Anyway, once again apologies for bringing you into this.

As for the journalism, well we'll see.
