WMDC will still own the land at j32 same as j30, yes, however from what i have heard from fans who are involved in your stadium process, wmdc will also own a percentage of the whole development, including stadium.
A partnership between Cas, Waystones & WMDC.
Thats why i wouldn't be so overly confident yet, having just been turned down by Sport England too.

i thought the land was owned by yorkshire forward not wmdc who in turn gave waystone the building rights to the land.

No yorkshire forward are development agency. the land like most undeveloped land in our district is owned by WMDC.

Yorkshire forward are a QUANGO with the charge of increasing economic development within yorkshire, so there involvement can only be seen as positive, as they would not be involved unless they believed the stadia would increase the level of economic development within yorkshire

No the land we are building on is owned by waystone not the council, i was talking about the land given to borrow against.

Could you show us your source for us being turned down by sport england?

WMDC involvement in J32 = bad thing
WMDC involvement in J30 = good thing

But to be fair, and with the greatest amount of respect, it's our city and our council, MOST Castleford residents don't see themselves as being part of Wakefield in any Sense, so why not push for your own council? oh yeah because you would be majorly out of pocket. Castleford has no economy with j32 apart. Very little industry and what would be very little income to any such council. I make no claims of liking Cas, but this has nothing to do with rugby, i don't see the point of carrying and paying for a region that holds no allegiance to the wider district that fronts the bill.

Yes a pool being built at j32 paid for by WMDC angered me, and many others in Wakefield, after OUR council took our facilities away and has all but shelved a promise to build new facilities in the hub of our district.
I for 1 am in favour of an independent Castleford.

As for Sport England, a friend who i went to university with now works as a senior accounts manager at Victoria House. Her colleague has been involved with both claims. The only things she couldn't tell me were amounts the were applied for, but J30 has been pushed through very quickly & has been successful, However the same can't be said for J32. Take it or leave it.

To be fair, and with the greatest amount of respect, it's not just YOUR council... the clue is in the name. Everyone in the Wakefield Metropolitan District pays their fair share of taxes to keep it funded and operational, which is why WMDC is mandated to treat everyone in said district fairly and equitably. You might THINK you have a personal right to all the good stuff, but that's your problem and nobody elses. I have to admit though that Cas' swimming pool 'angering you' cheers me up a little. Still, at least it's not a slanging match eh?

Perhaps you should try sparking a revolution if you don't like how democracy works? I suggest you call it P.I.S.S. - the Peoples Independent State of Sandal.
