I guess that what I'm struggling to put succinctly is that as soon as Wakefield announced the Stanley site, the first word that came to mind was MERGER. The site is slap bang in the middle of where the two clubs are, without really favouring either place (perhaps slightly in Wakey's favour).
I just get the feeling that it's all gearing up for a merger. I can't put my finger on it, but it just feels the same as it did years ago.
It is my opinion that the RFL want it more than ever, the Council ditto, Wakey have always been more resceptive to the idea and the only people blocking it are the Cas BoD.
I really hope I'm wrong, the vast majority of Cas fans, I think, would reject the stadium at Stanley as it's not in Cas and I feel it's too isolated from the centre of Wakefield to attract new fans from within Wakefield, or anywhere else for hat matter.

The reason Wakey seem more receptive to a groundshare is (to my mind) because they have to be. It was my initial hunch on hearing the news but the longer this goes on the more convinced I become. They know - as do we - what the RFL told them when they granted the franchises in 2008. "No plan B" and all that... This Stanley idea is clearly the last throw of the dice for them (they'll have no more viable chances before 2011) and the more they bang on about sharing the more it seems to me that they know they can't deliver anything there without Cas' help. It seems a sign of their utter desperation that they could even entertain the thought that Cas would walk away from Glasshoughton this close to it's delivery. In that sense I feel quite sorry for them, though I can't say I'm too happy that once again they seem to be prepared to try and scupper Cas' plans just to save their own skins.

I'm not claiming that everything's fully as it seems with Glasshoughton - I'm sure there are a few things being kept from us and for very good reason. Some Cas fans don't seem to want to accept that that's how it should be in these situations. Personally, I suspect I know why too but I won't speculate on here. However, of all those statements being issued by Wakey about preserving rugby in the "district" (yes, the connotation IS blatant), you should console yourself with the obvious fact that Cas aren't endorsing them. In fact, RW has reassured us that our plans are still very much alive and we've no intention of sharing. To me, that clearly shows that Wakey are pushing the possibilty of a share unilaterally. As I said.. everything points to the fact that they're on a desperate last throw of the dice.

Now, I don't know the future... perhaps they'll create enough spin around Stanley to weave themselves another ticket in 2011 - it's how they got this one with Thornes Park after all - and if they can do that then good luck to them. But Castleford's plans are to build and move into Glasshoughton and that's what we're focused on as a club, because we all know that if Cas move out of Cas it would spell the ultimate end for Castleford as a Rugby League identity. Don't be under any illusion though, Wakey know that too and it doesn't seem to bother them one jot.

Fortunately for us we're miles ahead in the race to build, because I honestly can't imagine there'd be any mercy whatsoever from Wakey if we were the ones behind.

Just looked at the clip again Disco and either that train is too small or they are very big passengers, or are they Wakey fans with over inflated ego's since Stanley was announced????

I look forward to a direct connection from Kings X :)

As far as funding for J30 goes, keep your ears to the ground!
Two HUGE grants will be announced within the next month. Sport England & The Youth Sports Council will both commit to the project. Thats what you get for having men in charge with connections.

However untill they are announced the project will continue to get be frowned upon by some people.

With these grants and the market leading supermarket interested buying BV funding could be in place before the end of next month. With that in mind and the creation of jobs and future income there will be no problems getting PP.

Why would we give a sh*t? Surely you should be telling this to your fellow Wakey fans, than on the Cas forum.

We honestly don't care about J30 as long as J32 continues to progress.

Good luck with Sport England, nice to see you have connections at Red Hall.
