Chase : Sun Aug 23, 2009 10:51 pm
As a Wigan fan I was somewhat relieved this evening to see Rangi Chase switched to hooker midway through the second half. He'd been virtually untouchable playing in the halves before this, and the switch to 9 I thought really limited his effectiveness.

Interested to know Cas fans' thoughts on this - is this something that happens every week? We at Wigan have gone into the last few games with only one hooker in Riddell, but fortunately Leuluai is equally at home there. Chase could have been the difference in the last 20 mins for me after an excellent first 60.

To me it looked like Chase was expected to run the whole show - He did a pretty good job of it, but when he needed the runners nobody popped up. We couldn't contain him for most of the game.

Seems like he needs the pressure lifting a little, once he gets the support Cas will have a cracking attack.

Hudson went off at half time and didn't come back he injured his arm so Chase had to move to hooker. It was a shame as we needed him in the halves with Sherwin a little rusty with it being his first game in so long.

I'd say you are pretty much bang on - although your forwards were too big and strong for us aswell!

Shifty had a good kicking game close to their line but too many passes went to ground. Just rusty I guess. With ball in hand I agree with you though he was expected to do everything.

I think Widders had a big game. We were way behind when he came on. He seemed to lift us.
