- Do they count towards the Leeds or Wigan salary cap ?

- Who in Wigan actually has some money and if so, are the government aware of this ?

Unfortunately they were pre-decimal coinage.

Useful if you are planning a trip to Wigan in the near future but sadly no longer legal tender anywhere else in the UK.

Just remember that there are 240 of those big pennies to the pound.

Will this pre decimal stuff spend in St Helens next week or are hub caps and bin lids still the legal tender over there, its a year since I've been to Saints so things may have changed.

Dunno – might have got mixed in with the rest of the coins lobbed by our friendly Wigan friends – at least it wasn’t bog brushes this year.
