Blueys Thoughts : Fri Apr 10, 2009 10:31 pm
BBC interview:
Leeds coach Brian McClennan (on the decisions of the video referee):
"I've got thoughts about them but I'll keep them to myself. I don't want to take away what Bradford did.
"There was a lot of desperation and a lot of courage in their play. You could see a side that really needed those two points and they did a good job and played tough
"I'm actually pretty pleased with some aspects of our game. Our defence was a lot better. We just didn't get cracking along in attack but that's credit to Bradford."

Respect to the guy for not bleating on about the ref. How many times do we hear coaches slag off the referees, but its seems Bluey is more upper class and better mannered. Hats off to the bloke for that.
What i cannot understand is how he can be pleased in any way. Last season we had some bad games. But his tops the lot, for me this was our worst performance since playoffs 2006.
Ok the defence was good, thank goodness it had to be! But the attack was clueless. To say we didnt get cracking was an understatement. Dummy/Decoy runners...? Have Leeds forgotten what they are? When we dont have any men running lines and all the opposite defence has to do is watch the man with the ball its is extremely easy to defend against. Leeds were relying on missed tackles to score tries. They were not looking to find to makes gaps or confuse the defence.
Basic, very basic attacking from Leeds. That will win us nothing this season.
However as we all know nothing is won in April but im very worried that McClennan doesnt think there is much wrong..
