Agree but maybe didn't want to take off Smith but possibly an indication that he might not be an automatic starter

Smith didn`t appear to get at the players or appear to be pushing them last season.
I agree on Croft and not really seen any captaincy quality in Handley either.

Maybe Croft if he was a realistic long term bet, but will he be at the club in 26? 50/50 chance - no better.

I hate things like this, shared captaincies rarely seems to work well and removing the captaincy from a player has not been a positive for us historically.
