I was screaming at the ref when he didn't check offside, I was then annoyed at Sky for not showing the right angle. When they finally did, I had to eat my humble pie. Clearly onside, just bloody quick

I think I'm right in thinking that he can't go back to a previous tackle to check for offside. Rightly so too.

You are.
I also agree, that while a beautifully run line, the first Watmough try was marginally forward, but one of those margins that you ignore when it is your side who benefits.

Ah thats the one. Thats why I was so frustrated. I knew it was offside so was annoyed that we tackled then let them score as he couldn't go to the screen. they were always going to score from that break the covering tackle only delayed the inevitable.
Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.
I didnt think he was offside but it was a tough one to call.
Same here.
One thing that everyone has failed to mention (surprise surprise) is the referee was in a superb position to make the call on that. There's plenty willing to bag poor refereeing but his position and decision and a decision that would've taken a while with the aid of video was spot on.
