So you are looking at 4 years ago then?

He hasn't been the best british centre for the last 4 years. This year suprising to me admitted, Senior is the form centre of the competition, and Gleeson was never as good as Senior at his best.

He might be what we need at present, but that is more down to the lack of quality centres around, than what Gleeson is.

He looked very good at times when I saw him play last season.
bTW I'm not suggesting we should have gone out and signed him I would rather go for Shenton.

I agree.

I also like the look of the kid at Hull KR (Welham I think), but I guess that would be no different to giving Watkins and Gibson the chance.

I can definately see the GB centres at some stage been Shenton and Welham, unless Watkins shoots up the rankings very quickly.

Shenton appears to be playing exclusively on the left at the moment and isn't that Watkins preferred side?

Welham just looks like another Gibson to me. His defense is worse aswell.

We need to start producing big, fast, powerful centres in this country. Welham, Gibson, Goulding etc will never be world class as long as they holes in their...

Nope, not at all. And not even intimated it above. The lad looks the best potential around attacking wise. But his defence is pretty shocking at the moment.

IMO Shenton and Welham are ahead of him at present. But like I said, unless Watkins improves very quickly. Because if he does, he will be ahead of them.
