He has zero try assists this season.
Zero.
Even allowing for the inconsistencies of OPTAs statistical analysis, that's scary given one of the main jobs of a centre is to create tries for his winger.
On one of sky's televised games Ryan made a superb break and stepped two or three players before offloading to Luke George who scored under the posts, is that not a try assist? Therefore OPTA and their statistics have proved to be incorrect.
I don't want to be seen as pushing the case for Leeds to sign Ryan Atkins but he certainly does have decent hands but he can improve. As has already been said he has good footwork in front of the line and this helps his power game when busting tackles. You rarely see him brought to ground quickly or by one defender.
Ryan is still in his very early 20s and is IMO ahead of Ashley Gibson or any other Leeds three-quarter with the exception of Senior.
I hope he stays with Wakefield Trinity but in the long-term unless Wakefield can secure the new stadium and become contenders I don't see Ryan Atkins spending his whole career with the Wildcats.
