Not missed as such, just didn't react quickly enough to get to the ball, though the turning defender is always going to be 2nd favourite in a race to get a ball kicked behind him

Oh I know. And believe me, I lost my rag at that one. Not very complimentary of Mr Burgess. I thought the coach should have dragged him off for that, just stood around. Although I doubt that is the miss tackle that he is credited with, because he actually never attempted to tackle.

But that aside, because of how I felt to Mr Burgess, those stats suprise me, and I still praise his work rate there.

His go forward has always been good, his ball retention is getting better, but his movement in defence still needs work, if he wants to have a go at it in the nrl he needs to work on it a lot.

i was just pointing out in a polite way that using raw stats to credit kylie and smith was flawed

if you saw the game/or the highlights/or read a report you would know about smiths long range try, factot that out and he made 66 mts from 15 carries

not stand out go forward in any way ... just in case we get any more knee jerking around here as to what a tragic loss to the game he will be!

Glad you saw the funny side. Its just that the "Great analysis... ...except" part looked like a criticism of the initial post. I think TVOC does a great job every week in bringing together data, which is elsewhere in the public domain , onto these boards for debate that the rest of us are too lazy to get ourselves.

I presume I can take it that your argument was with the content of the stats and reasons for them to be skewed rather than TVOC's level of analysis.

You might want to put a waterproof cover on that bonfire...

He made less tackles than any of the other forwards in the 17 with the exception of young Manning. Yes, he completed all the ones he attempted, but hardly cause to proclaim him as one of the hardest workers on the night.

I found it surprising that we had to do nearly 15% more tackles than KR.
Possibly the pressure we had to deal with in the 1st half.
One stat I would be interested in is the no. of sets of six with the completion rate but that is never available.
Good to see so many players with 100% completion rates.
