If that is the case then we can assume that the work required was of a far more drastic nature than intimated at the end of last season - £250k doesn't go far but if they needed to spend that sort of money just to maintain a reduced capacity then it must have been pretty firked to start with - I'd guess that the reduced capacity will be with us (you) for some time to come ...
I was told by someone at Headingley that the damage was done when they put in the new crash barriers a few years ago. Apparently they weren't put in in the right way (apparently the ones in the Carnegie Stand are correct) and so weakened the concrete of the steps.
How much/how long it would take to fix it though I've no idea!
