We'd have to buy him out of the four year deal he signed with Newcastle just a month ago first.

Why would Leeds want another FB/winger?

I'm not expecting us to sign anyone good now, but there should be cap space if for good players if any are available.

We should be signing a decent replacement for Senior, although what will materialise is anyone's guess. I don't think Martin would be as bad as many have made out (i.e. compared to what we have now), but at his age it is hardly a good indication of the club's ambition in the next couple of seasons.

If Lauitiiti departs that should also free up space for a decent back-rower (i.e. equivalent to Eastwood or Lauitiiti 2004 vintage). Whether or not Leeds can attract a player of sufficient calibre is another matter. I have a feeling it is now too late, unless 'the sleeve' is waiting for the right time to make an announcement. Missing out on Flanagan (if Leeds were ever interested) is not a bad thing at all.

Flanagan is Clarkson with two years experience in a NRL environment.

He will start at Saints and play most games - he will be much more than a squad player.

At Wigan he was coached by Noble who has always preferred to play experienced NRL players like Bailey before giving youngsters a go.

He would make an excellent partner for Clarkson if you want to play your second row forwards as tackling machines.

If you look at our backrow options I would not say we are flush - Clarkson, JJB-hardly a spring chicken, Ablett although he is more a 13 and if Sinfield is going to play 6 then he will be needed there, Hauraki!!, Delanney next year is his last. We don't seem to have many youngsters bashing the door down either.

I expect him to add depth to the squad and challenge Flannery for the 80 minute workhorse back row spot. Something like:

Perry
Roby
Puletua
Flannery/Flanagan
Soliola
Wilkin

Laffranchi
LMS
Clough
Moore

Looks more and more like Buderus will be leaving (Eastwood made similar comments about it being out of his hands IIRC). Have people not noticed that we keep resigning the current players that are supposedly leaving? Given that we seem to be sticking with a completely inept coach to save a bit of brass, what possible indication is there that we're about to sign anybody of any caliber?

I've been told we are apparently announcing two new signings next Thursday (28th), where we will also be giving an update on the southstand build, and reflection on our successful licence renewal.

I have no idea who the signings are before anyone asks.

I'd expect 1 of them to be Griffin and i hope what i heard about our apparant interest in Ellis at Quinns is BS.
