When Ellis decides he has fullfilled all his ambitions in Rugby League, and he wants to play for fun, and not bothered about winning trophies, I don't blame him signing for Cas or Wakey
If he returns to the UK, and is still ambitious, he'll sign for a club that has a chance of winning something, and not just making up the numbers.
haha, Yes, the Cas Born man, who played for wakey for longer than Leeds, who is loving his life in Aus where he is one of the clubs best players and loved by the fans, misses his 'home' of wet cold Leeds, who play in the inferior competition.
yeah, remember reading an interview with moz when he was with the roosters, describing life in the sun, earning a great living in the best comp in game, and living by the beach, sounded hideous, i am sure life is similarly grim for Gaz right now
If you read any aus press he has been interviewed a few times in rlw, and i think he has said he will come back when his body can no longer take the NRL on a weekly basis, and sign for a couple of years with someone. In a later interview he said he has always wanted to play for his home town team, make your own minds up?!!
The man is a top top player... total utter pro. I can see him being in the NRL til he is 33, then still being able to do 2 more years at cas. I was gutted when Bradford didn't sign him from wakey. The man is where he belongs, and I just wish England could create more players capable of doing what Gareth can do... might make the off season more interesting than ' how many do you reckon Oz/NZ will beat us by this time?'

Personally I think he is a cracking player, and I think when he comes back, if comes back to SL he will go to the highest wages offered. And probably the best prospect of wining trophies with the best wages.
i would love gaz back at the rhinos when he returns from the nrl, i hope that we don't fall for the same mistake we did when we only offered moz a 2 year deal, believing that he couldn't manage the 4 year contract that he was after, one that the wire subsequently offered without haste and have been proved correct
Hindsight's a great thing though isn't it? Morley signing a four-year deal with Wire did seem a big risk to virtually everybody at the time. Glad that it paid off for both sides, but I can't blame GH for 'missing out' on that particular deal.

I seem to remember that before Morley signed for Wire Salford fans were hopeful he'd see out his career with them. Similarly, I suspect that in reality the Ellis-Cas thing will only happen if there are no offers from bigger clubs.
