It would seem clear to me that there has been a fallout between Austin and GH. RS has said that he didn’t know about the loan deal until after it was agreed overnight, though he approves of what has happened. He didn’t really have much option to say otherwise in the press though.
Almost impossible to get a replacement in now before the deadline. I’d guess it will be Myler (if the foot rumours aren’t true) and Sezer, with Sinfield/Johnson/Smith filling in.
Unless we are going to splash some cash for a half under contract then I don’t see many OOC players that I’d trust to turn our mid table side into contenders.
I’m pretty neutral on losing Austin overall. I personally wouldn’t have kept him past this year ideally anyway. He has a bit of the Brad Dwyer about him, tries hard, has moments of brilliance but doesn’t make the team better overall (Not that many people are in that category now!). But any player who wants to leave mid season can go for me!
