I've got one friend who still plays five a side at age 54, mind, we reckon he dyes his hair black too but he swears he doesn't, he could be a freak of nature.
A crowd of mates (all in their 50s) used to be in a Sunday League team when the earth was much younger and last year they decided to have a go at five a side - one of them pulled a hamstring with the first kick of the game and another pulled a calf muscle with the second kick of the game, a third ended up having knee surgery after aggravating an old injury.
We just do our summer coast to coast bike ride once a year now instead.
