That isn't a choice that should exist - previous management let players stay out of shape. I don't think Smith will let that happen. Age is irrelevant.

I get the impression that Smith wouldn’t sign an out of shape anybody, no matter what the reputation or age.

Briscoe makes sense too and if we re sign Hardaker I can't see Walker sticking around

Walker may want to move on even if we don't re-sign Hardaker. Its pretty clear Myler is ahead of him.

At Smith's pre-match press conference he said he feels we have a gap in the 22-24 bracket, and added players up to 26ish, referencing the fact our first reserve halfback is 17. It doesn't suggest he'd be at all interested in someone in their 30s. Another bit of evidence (if any was needed) about how piecemeal and badly organised our recruitment has been for years. Not to mention the gap of Leeds juniors in their prime shows how we took our eye off the ball there as well.

He mentioned a couple more incoming so it will certainly be interesting - I don't think anyone mentioned Sangare/McDonnell before it became widely known, so we might all get a surprise.

Interestingly Sangare not selected in the matchday 17 yesterday by Toulouse despite being in the 21 man squad which seems a very strange decision based on form

We only have one proper centre in Newman.

We need more centres.

Leutele is a very good centre.
