As for Beckford to Shorpe, can't see it. If Leeds can't afford his wage demands, no way will a club like Scunny stump up the cash. That's before you take into account the cash Bates will want for a transfer fee.

A league above us and a team he's already familiar with. And if no other team puts the money on the table that Bates wants and Scunny make a rather acceptable bid, I think Bates will take the money. I don't think he'll fancy waiting and risk the chance of loosing him for nothing.

Only a year left on his deal, Bates will have to sell him at a cut price deal and we'll be very lucky if we make a million on the deal!

I appreciate the bit about the club, but at the end of the day he's turned down the new contract due to money. Now, if that's really the reason, I can't see Scunny being able to offer more money. Yes, they're a league above us, but they were the 17th best supported club in League 1 this year, and the difference in TV money wont be that great. That was my reasoning, nothing to do with football.

Has anyone thought that Beckford might not be the villan here? If the reports that Grayson wasn't a fan, he could have been given a derisory offer for an extension, and turned it down, so that Grayson could get a player he wants in.

Its unlikely but who knows. I knew Beckford would leave, he does seem a very selfish player, but I can't agree with people saying good riddance, and that he was rubbish. Without his goals we could have gone down last year, and wouldn't have been close to the play-offs this year, as we only won 4 games when he didn't play

A pish poor run club is Leeds United aswell. Who in their right mind announces a player on the transfer list at this stage due to not able to afford his wage demands?

A club will just wait and wait unitl Leeds get a replacement knowing they can not afford the replacement and Beckford at the same time. Thus resulting in a peanuts offer and Leeds snapping their hands off.

As crap as Beckfords 1st touch is, and his attitude, I will be compeltely suprised if they manage to find a replacement even half as successfull.

Beckford is lazy and goes missing in big games, but 30+ goals in a season will take some real replacing. This is bad news for leeds it really is. We could be set for league one for a long time.
