Its getting abit worrying now that in two games we've dropped four points which would of taken us to second and put us firmly in the driving seat for automatic promotion. We've got a fairly young squad and that may be the reason for not being able to kill the game off. Possibly some fresh, expeirenced bodies in Janurary is what is needed Mr Grayson.

Leeds are doing far better than I expected so far this season. Plenty of time to get things right and get promoted outright rather than stupid play offs.

Leeds exceed all expectations and the fans are saying we need fresh blood brought in.

Don`t they have the best goals for and almost the worse goals against? That says they need a couple of experienced defenders or is that what O`Brien and Bruce are?

I went to the game today for the first time in years, here's what I thought:

Schmeichel has the makings of a very good keeper, but is exposed by the 4 in front of him so regularly it's comical. Neither centre half looks like they have ever met the other, and the full backs both lack pace. Going forward Leeds (and Pompey for that matter) are not bad, but the reliance on Snodgrass is too heavy for him which tires him out later in the game. Paynter is a big lump and shouldn't be leading the line against a Championship defence, and Bradley Johnson is comical as he's not much more than a pub player.

I didn't go to the game expecting a world class spectacle, but I did expect a bit of structure and organisation, both things that were sadly missing. Leeds are doing very well in terms of the table for a team who were promoted only last year, but I would be extremely surprised if they made it out of the Championship this year. A top half of the table finish should be what the fans can expect now, any more than that would be a huge bonus.

Don't be getting carried away.

It doesn't matter how many we conceded as long as we score more, that seems to be the mentality.

The 6 at home to Preston, 4 at home to Cardiff and 5 away at Barnsley didnt help our goals against.

I can see you are not, but others will be getting all excited about the current position which in my view, and I suspect yours also, is a false one.

The fact that Leeds are 4th having conceded 40 goals in 24 games tells you all you need to know about the level of the Championship itself.

When the manager and Chairman are openly targetting promotion there's nothing wrong with wanting that bit more quality to be signed to achieve it.
I 'm more than happy to consolidate and chuffed we are in the top 6 but realistically IF the intent on promotion is serious then more quality needs adding imo because we've proved as an attacking force at least we can match anyone and that bit of defensive/Midfield quality could earn promotion years before anyone expected it.

The Manager and Chairman are saying that they are targetting promotion so that the blind hoardes will continue to follow blindly. How would it go down with the "Leeds Faithful" if they said "actually our target is to finish one place above the relegation places and play some really crap football along the way".

Nothing wrong with consolidation after being in div 3 for 3yrs and that was the noises the club made pre-season.
Like i said i'm chuffed where we are and would be more than happy to stay in this league establish ourselves and build up for a promotion push ,but as the league stands there's a real chance of going up and IF we are serious about it them IMO adding a couple of quality players could be the difference between going up and staying where we are.

I don't know what some Leeds fans are expecting! Consolodation in the league is the main priority this year, anything else with such an awful defence is a bonus!
