AT THE TIME (for the hard of reading) we had too emerging young wingers Smith and Hall – Hall was costing us with his constant failings and lacked the skills that Smith was showing.

Smith IMO had more potential to be first choice winger – drop Hall and go with Smith – simple or do you not understand that bit either?

I still think that Hall isn’t the best winger in the SL – far from it and the only reason that the blinkered masses believe that he is the bee all and end all is because Senior is playing some of the best football of his career.

Would I trade Hall for Smith right now? You bet your life.

I stand by the comments I made last year and stick an inexperienced centre on his inside and maybe, just maybe, you may also question his ability as a top class winger.

That's your opinion LS16, and fair play. For alot of his tries, Hall hasn't had too much to do, I think that's a given.
However, he is now a big threat in the air going forward, has been shown to possess more pace than I thought he had at first, is solid in defence, has a superb workrate, and hasn't bombed a chance yet this season that I can remember. His finish for his 2nd try yesterday was one that alot of wingers we've had at the club in the past would have struggled to force down. He's not the finished article, nor is he often spectacular, but he is without doubt one of the best wingers in the competition on present form.
I think Lee Smith is equally as good in his own way by the way.

Oh and as a P.S. we once had a coach, you may remember him, I think his name was Smith – didn’t rate a young winger by the name of Fox and let him go. Then that very same coach later went on to select him to represent his country.

I bet he feels embarrassed now hey? Or do you think he would stand by his decision that he made at the time?

I would agree fully. Smith has the class. While Hall has the promise but many of his tries are because most of our best attacking moves are produced on the left and having Senior for your centre helps just a bit.

I still feel that Hall hasn't got a safe pair of hands and is prone to the odd fumble that leads to opposition scores. However give the lad his due he is improving and has become a good finisher.

I would class Danny at the most pathetic contributor to Southstander and that is saying something, the fact his sycophantic licking of anything Gareth only increases the cringe factor even more.

The fact that he also finds flashing his todger at the neighbours also amusing tells you a little more about the social level of Southstanders alias butt plug.

I am still awaiting his same persecution of said butt plug Gareth for his hammering of Bailey but I doubt that will happen, although if he develops are pair of his own conkers then one never knows.
