Even some of the NRL pundits were saying that many of the options to fill Brown's boots were coaches who didn't have a great record, and that maybe they should look at an up and coming assistant like Jason Ryles at Melbourne.
I don't know what Tony Smith had done coaching-wise in Aus before he came to Huddersfield, but he transformed them and Leeds at the time.
If we have a good management team around them and KS as DoR, maybe an assistant NRL coach would be sensible. It's just the risk factor having got fingers burned with Furner.
Again, this is why I suspect they will retain Agar - the coach has to be able to work alongside KS who clearly has strong opinions about how things should be done.
